JESUS IS THE WAY!

Acts 4:12"... for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Jesus came to reveal the Father

Misconceptions Concerning Jesus Christ

Jesus came to reveal the Father: John 14:6-11

John 14:6.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way , the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

7.

If ye had known me , ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

8.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

9.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

10.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

11.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22.

Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

He Never Turned Anybody Off

1.     He never turned anyone off:

·                             John6:50-59

·                             This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof , and not die .

·                             51.

·                             I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

·                             52.

·                             The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying , How can this man give us his flesh to eat ?

·                             53.

·                             Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

·                             54.

·                             Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

·                             55.

·                             For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

·                             56.

·                             He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

·                             57.

·                             As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

·                             58.

·                             This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead : he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

·                             59.

·                             These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

·                             John 15:22-25

·                             If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

·                             23.

·                             He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

·                             24.

·                             If I had not done among them the works which none other man did , they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

·                             25.

·                             But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law , They hated me without a cause.

Jesus not offensive?

A. He never offended anyone: John 6:60-71,

·                             60.

·                             Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said , This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

·                             61.

·                             When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

·                             62.

·                             What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

·                             63.

·                             It is the spirit that quickeneth ; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

·                             64.

·                             But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

·                             65.

·                             And he said , Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

·                             66.

·                             From that time many of his disciples went back , and walked no more with him.

·                             67.

·                             Then said Jesus unto the twelve , Will ye also go away ?

·                             68.

·                             Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go ? thou hast the words of eternal life.

·                             69.

·                             And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

·                             70.

·                             Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

·                             71.

·                             He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

·                             Matt. 15:1-14  1.

·                             Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying ,

·                             2.

·                             Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

·                             3.

·                             But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

·                             4.

·                             For God commanded , saying , Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

·                             5.

·                             But ye say , Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

·                             6.

·                             And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

·                             7.

·                             Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying ,

·                             8.

·                             This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

·                             9.

·                             But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

·                             10.

·                             And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear , and understand :

·                             11.

·                             Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

·                             12.

·                             Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended , after they heard this saying?

·                             13.

·                             But he answered and said , Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted , shall be rooted up .

·                             14.

·                             Let them alone : they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Jesus did not offend? A happy get along ?

B. He never intentionally offended:

Luke 6:1-11.

1.

And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat , rubbing them in their hands.

2.

And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?

3.

And Jesus answering them said , Have ye not read so much as this, what David did , when himself was an hungred , and they which were with him;

4.

How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread , and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?

5.

And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

6.

And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught : and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

7.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

8.

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up , and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth .

9.

Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good , or to do evil ? to save life, or to destroy it?

10.

And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

11.

And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

Does Jesus accept everybody?

2. He never rejected anyone: Luke 9:57-62; those eager to follow  1.

.

And it came to pass , that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest .

58.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

59.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said , Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.

60.

Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

61.

And another also said , Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell , which are at home at my house.

62.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back , is fit for the kingdom of God.

Luke 14:25,26,27,33-35; forsake all

25.And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned , and said unto them,

26.If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27.And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

.

33.So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath , he cannot be my disciple.

34.Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour , wherewith shall it be seasoned ?

35.It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear , let him hear .

Luke 18:9-14 Pharisee and publican

·                              9.

·                              And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

·                              10.

·                              Two men went up into the temple to pray ; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

·                              11.

·                              The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

·                              12.

·                              I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess .

·                              13.

·                              And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast,
